Ok, I don't read
a lot of fiction. It's not because I don't like fiction. The reason is that
there is so much of it to weed through to find the stuff I like.
One day I went to the library
to get a new book to read. There I was, staring at the forest of shelves that
made up the fiction section. While I was pondering the Everest-like task of
weeding through this warehouse of books looking for that one gem, I thought
there must be a better way…
So this is Fictionarium. I hooked
up with this wierd girl who professes to have an 'English' degree and we came
up with this plan: The plan is to link authors not alphabeticaly, or by some
indecipherable numbering system you need to get a degree in( *cough*Library
of Congress System*cough*), but by similarity. Kind of like: if you like brownies,
chances are you'll like fudge.
Now, we can't do this all by ourselves
so this is where you come in. Please add an author and hook them up to another
author. After a while we all should find a new author to read and won't be
forced to comb the shelves and take a book home that's not what we're into!
So this is how we think it should
work:
Step 1Check
out a Genre you like.
Step 2
Add what you know.
Step 3
Find a new author for yourself (we hope!)
Step 4
Check back from time to time. Add more and see what other have added!
Step 5
Repeat!
Please also know that Fictionarium
isn't an extension of some large company, we are just a couple of people trying
to help all of us find the authors we want to read, so be patient with us
as we are working as hard as we can to make this as useful and readable as
we can!
